Non-Canonical Recitations and their Impact on Interpretation and Language in Al-Muntajeb Al-Hamadhaani’s Book Al-Fareed fi I’raab Al-Quraan Al-Majeed ; An Empirical Study; Surat Al-In’aam as a Case Study

Abstract
This research deals with non-canonical recitations and their impact on interpretation and language in the book Al-Fareed fi I’raab Al-Quraan Al-Majeed by Al-Muntajeb Al-Hamadhaani. This empirical study on surat Al-An’aam aims at highlighting the strong relation between the recitations and the Arabic language, as well as at manifesting the implication of non-canonical recitations on interpretation. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach. The research necessitated that it comprises an introduction, a preface, two chapters, and a conclusion. As for the introduction, it included the significance of the topic, the rationale for its selection, the research objectives and limitations, The preface included the author’s biography, Al-Muntajeb Al-Hamadhaani, and the book Al-Fareed fi I’raab Al-Quraan Al-Majeed. Then the first chapter manifested the meaning of non-canonical recitations, the reasons for their anomaly, as well as their criteria, in addition to stating some of their narrators and some of what was written about them. The second chapter dealt with the practical application of samples from surat Al-An’aam, and the research concludes with a number of results, the most important of which are Al-Muntajeb Al-Hamadhaani’s huge interest in the non-canonical recitations, and that his book (Al-Fareed fi I’raab Al-Quraan Al-Majeed) is considered a source for Qur’anic recitations. Further, the research also demonstrated the extent of the strong relation between non-canonical recitations and interpretation, and their addition of new interpretative meanings. Based on the results, the researchers recommended conducting an inductive and comprehensive study of all cases of the non-canonical recitations in the book of Al-Muntajeb Al-Hamadhaani, similar to this research, so as to serve the book, and for what that have been realised in terms of the benefits with the availability of scientific material for it. Additionally, making a comparison of the extent of benefit from non-canonical recitations, between the aforementioned book, and books from those who have preceded him and those who influenced him in authoring, such as Ma’ani Al-Quraan wa I’raabihi by Al-Zajjaaj and I’raab Al-Quraan by Al-Nahaas.
